Cold Fun Trip

Only one week since I got back to Singapore from my vacation in Cebu, I flew away again for another trip and this time my friends were with me. A nice way to start the year at work. ;)

We flew in to Macau then took a ferry to HK where we spent the first two nights of our trip. Why did I go back there so soon, you asked? Well, because that time I was not able to visit the Tian Tan Buddha. This time I finally did. And when I accompanied my friends shopping at outlet stores, I was also able to buy my self a new pair of shoes.

After a day at Disneyland, we all went back to Macau where we spent the first night strolling the streets after eating dinner. We also went into a casino. It was my first time to be inside a casino and we had fun. We were always laughing at our selves. Yes, we gambled and I'd say I had beginner's luck. I won enough to pay for my share of our taxi fare. :)

Our last day was spent sightseeing. From our hotel we walked all the way to the different attractions and historical places in Macau, like the A-Ma Temple and the Ruins of St. Paul. We also went to the Macau Tower where two of our friends did the Sky Walk. No, I did not do the bungy jump. Just looking at the ground from the observation deck already made my heart skip a beat.

Anyway, next stop was the Venetian. We had dinner, followed by a gondola ride along their artificial canal. I'm not sure if or when I could ever go to Venice, so I settled with this one for now. The design was very interesting with the ceiling looking like the real sky outside. By the way, our gondolier was a Filipina so it was easy to interact with her and she has a nice singing voice.

After the ride we still had some free time left. And a few MOP cash left (MOP20 for me). So we thought we'll have some fun of it at the casino while waiting for the time for us to go to the airport. Luckily, I won again just the same as the night before.

The whole trip was fun and worth it, despite of the climate. It was winter in the two countries. And I'm not really good with cold weather. My lips are still dry and cracked because of it.

Oh well. I had so much fun and that's what's important. My friends are already talking about their next trip to another country. Me? I'm going home to Cebu in summer. ;)
